Top 10 XBox Tips and Tricks

Microsoft offers support and services to their customers, but there are some really cool tweaks we have up our sleeves that we'll share with you. Keeping the needs of gamers in mind, we have come up with an enchanting set of the Top 10 Xbox 360 Tips and Tricks... which really come in handy.

With an array of games waiting to keep you engaged 24x7, most people lose sight of some of the clever little things that you can actually do with your Xbox 360 console. Microsoft isn't ready to tell you the XBox tips and tricks. But we are!

Why does my XBox run slow? or How do I increase the speed of my XBox 360?
Let us begin with a bit of performance tuning! If you find your Xbox 360 running slow or at a snail’s pace, its an indication that you have to clean the cache.  This is most often the reason behind the apparent drop in the console’s performance. You can resolve this issue by navigating to the system blade and going to the memory settings. Y, X, X, Left followed by right bumper and X, X again should make your console pop up a warning window. Upon selecting OK, your console cache will be clean. You don’t have to scour the internet searching for how to increase the speed of your XBox 360? (Please note, by clearing your cache, that your patches will be deleted)

Why is my XBox freezing?
If your XBox 360 freezes it's usually an indication that your CD reader lens is dirty or that your XBox 360 is overheating. More than likely your XBox is freezing due to a dirty lens. Many of the older XBox freezing issues were do to over heating, but Microsoft has since resolved those types of XBox freezing problems with new and improved processors. So let's get that lens cleaned first, which is rather a simple process. You can purchase a CD/DVD cleaner at eBay including shipping for less than $5.00 at this link. Simply insert the disk in your drive and the XBox freezing issue should be resolved. Another way to clean the lens is to physically open up the XBox and manually clean the lens.

How to reduce XBox lag time? It's simple! More than likely your XBox has poor lag time do to a slow Internet connection. The best way to eliminate XBox lag time is to connect your XBox up to an ethernet connection directly, but I'm sure you knew that. For many of us it just doesn't make sense when the main computer is in another room of the house (and I'm sure your mom or spouse really doesn't want a 50' ethernet cable running along your baseboards). So what's another solution for eliminating lag time for your XBox? Most people are still using G and B network adapters, better known as wireless routers. They also believe that getting the super dooper turbo blast Internet connection from their local internet company will help the XBox's lag time. None of which will help. Why? The G and B routers can only transfer the signal through the air at about 54 mbps, regardless of your Internet speed. With bandwidth, graphics and interference sucking the life out of your system, you really need to keep up with technology. The solution is to separate yourself from the days of the cave man and invest in a N - wireless adapter / router that offers up to 300 Mbps. I'm sure as soon as I complete this article they will come out with a 2000 Mbps router. But none the less it's important to keep up with the times. It's also important to select a router that has a QoS feature (quality of service) This option allows you to set the router so it gives your XBox higher priority if a torrent program begins running on the same network or if someone else in the home begins downloading a program.

How to get your game going on multiple Televisions? Yes it can be done and you don’t need to be a wiz to get this done. If you have a dual video cable which has an outlet for both component and composite connections, you can use Xbox 360 in standard definition mode and use both the outlets at the same time, which are connected to different TVs!!!

How do you connect and browse the internet from your Xbox 360? Connect your computer to your XBox and run the MCE browser plug in, in your PC. You can configure and use your Xbox 360 as a media extender. But here is the catch! Your PC needs to run vista ultimate or windows media center edition, though I believe windows 7 could also get it done.

With media center Os running in your PC you can use VMCplug in to stream in high definition Netflix movies in your Xbox 360.

Blogs help to share your thoughts and experiences. What would you give to see your Xbox 360 console recount its experience to the web community through its own blog? By registering yourself at 360voice.com you can enjoy reading the experiences of your own console with yourself. Take a peek into how your Xbox 360 console enjoys your companionship, day after day.

How do you play XBox games online over the internet for free? If you are not new to Xbox 360 you know how irksome it is to play online with your friends and how expensive it can be. It means you have to get a paid online account to accomplish this. Perhaps you must drop that idea and hear this out. You can get around this restriction placed by Microsoft. All you need is a laptop or a PC installed with XLink Kai offered by Team XLink which is a freeware application. You can bridge connections by choosing that option in the network center and connect your Xbox 360 console with your PC. The application makes your Microsoft 360 console think it's running a LAN, while actually you are surfing through the internet!!

Your Xbox 360 can play music and much more. You can interact with the visualization screens by using the controls and play with them.

How good can it get? Apple and Microsoft seem to have a clandestine connection which they are reluctant to disclose! If you don’t believe me, connect your iPod to your Xbox 360 console. With a patch downloaded from the Microsoft website for the iPad you can browse, customize and play songs and videos from your iPod in your Xbox 360.

There is so much more to share with you! Keep on the lookout for more tricks and tips for your Xbox 360.
