XBox 360 Premium Bundles
Microsoft introduced it's XBox 360 Premium (also known as "pro" due to the
packaging which encouraged users to "go pro") in 2005. This premium
system featured a competitive Xenon motherboard, and many bundles were
released that took advantage of the power of this top of the line gaming
system. The first XBox 360 Premium consoles featured a 20 gigabyte hard
drive for storing files and downloads, which was eventually upgraded to
60 gigabytes to the delight of hard core gaming enthusiasts. The premium
line of XBox 360 consoles were discontinued in 2008 in favor of the
"Elite" line, and so they will generally not feature more current
features such as HDMI capabilities of native Kinect ports. The hard
drive space of these machines, however, is still greater than that of
Microsofts current core economy bundle, which carries a 4 gigabyte hard
drive. An XBox 360 Premium is a good choice for users who aren't all
that interested in the latest technology and would simply like a
reliable machine with which to play certain XBox 360 games.
